After School Clubs 2017-18

Here are all the details for After-school Clubs 2017/18. Full details of costs/times etc are on registration forms which can be found on the links below. Once you have found a club you like then you need to sign up...


To sign up:

  • Check the timetable below to see what day the club is on.
  • Please note the class levels for each club.
  • Click on the link to register and fill in all details
  • You will receive an email from the club organiser confirming whether your child has a place. Note that spaces may be limited in certain clubs.
  • All clubs will begin in the week starting on October 2nd.
  • Questions regarding the club should go directly to the organising teacher using the email address provided below. You may also use this email address in the event that the online form is not working for you.
After School Sports Club - This camp aims to provide lots of fun activities in an inclusive environment - basketball, football, unihoc, dodgeball, rounders, hurling, dance and lots more. For info email bkelly@smpps.ie.

Art Club: Are you imaginative and artistic? Would you like to enjoy creative fun? Would you like to make new friends in SMPPS? If so, Art Club is the place to be on Thursday afternoons at 3 o'clock :) Open to all from 3rd to 6th class. We look forward to meeting many budding artists. Board Game Club: CANCELLED

Computer Club - a chance to develop new computer skills! Students will design their own websites, make projects and presentations, create short movies and  podcasts, and experience a range of other fun applications. Limited spaces available. For more information email computerclub@smpps.ie

Coding Club provides a space for children to learn about digital skills and coding in a safe, fun environment. We provide easy to follow coding projects which help children from 1st -6th  learn Scratch and Python by making games, animations and stories. The projects gradually introduce coding concepts to allow children to grow their understanding of digital making.  Limited Spaces Available. For info email mleonard@smpps.ie.

Creative Kids Club: this club will develop creative thinking and writing skills in a fun and interactive space, without the pressure of the classroom environment. We bring our stories to life through art, drama, movie creation and games. Join our club to make new friends, to share and develop your talents and most of all to have fun. “Let your imagination run wild.” Tuesday, 3pm-4pm, 1st-6th class welcome. Friday Fun Sports Club: In this action-packed club the children will get the chance to play the following games throughout the year: Soccer Skills & Games, Hurling / Camogie Skills & Games, GAA Football Skills & Games, Basketball Skills & Games, Rounders Skills & Games, Dodgeball Skills & Games, Tag Rugby Skills & Games. Feel Free Friday: A relaxing club for children on a Friday. Children will get involved in a variety of fun and relaxing activities designed to both entertain and stretch young minds. Activities range from computers, tablets, dance, film making, art, board games, cooking and more...Open to: 1st -6th classes. Feel free to contact sanderson@smpps.ie

Fun and Games with Numbers: Improve your maths skills through fun board games, dice games, computer games and much more! For more information email mmcdonnell@smpps.ie or emckenna@smpps.ie

Gaeilge Club Tír gan teanga, Tír gan anam! Improve your spoken Irish through fun, games, songs, drama etc in a fun and relaxed environment. Get that extra boost needed to improve your conversational Irish! From 1st class to 6th class every Thursday at 3 pm - 4pm.  Email gaeilgeclub@gmail.com for more information


Guitar: Guitar Club caters for various levels of experience including total beginners. The children will learn chords in order to play accompaniment for a number of songs which will increase in difficulty as they progress throughout the year. Homework Club offers an excellent opportunity for children to do their homework in a quiet and structured environment under the supervision and guidance of a teacher. Homework Club runs on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3 pm to 4 pm and is open to all children from 2nd-6th class.

Irish Dance Club - Teaching the FUNdamentals of Irish dance. Students will learn traditional set and solo Irish dance. The focus of this club is to be active and learn about an interesting and fun aspect of Irish culture in a non-competitive club environment. Children will develop balance, co-ordination, fitness levels while socialising with friends. Suitable for beginners and improvers. Irish dance club runs on Wednesdays from 3 - 4 p.m.  Limited spaces available.

Lego: Lego club is all about having fun. We like to use our imagination to build and create. We also have other Lego sets to build using instructions and to play with. Lego club is an excellent opportunity to meet new people, work as part of a team and take on design challenges. If Emmet were to describe Lego club I think he would say "Everything is awesome, everything is cool." We look forward to new master builders joining the team this year. Mini Me Yoga and Mindfulness: Relax and unwind doing yoga poses and creating yoga sequences. Have fun playing Mini Me Yoga games. The club focuses on being positive and thankful. Students will create personalised happy boxes and posters and bring in happy memory items and photos from home. Students are encouraged to be mindful while meditating, repeating mantras, walking around the school grounds and colouring mandalas. For more information email mstallard@smpps.ie

Reading Club: Love books? Love fun and games? Love acting out your favourite stories? Children in reading club are encouraged to read and discuss their favourite books. They also will get to enjoy stories being read aloud and to try out writing/ illustrating their very own books. Every Wednesday 3pm- 4pm for 1st to 6th classes. Science Club: Science Club: Fancy yourself as a Scientist? Then come join Science Club where you will do fun, freaky and fantabulous experiments and answer questions that would blow your mind! (Not really) Every member will gets hands on for some science fun. Bring your inquisitive mind, imagination and ideas! (And your science goggles)

SMPPS Got Talent: Come showcase and develop your talents with ‘SMPPS got Talent’ Club. Engage in a variety of activities ranging from group and solo singing,dancing, comedy shows, playing instruments and much, much more. Spikeball is a child-friendly modified version of volleyball. it is an all inclusive game with six players on each team. Over the past two years we have been crowned Leinster champions and have also made it to the all Ireland finals in Limerick. Come get involved in our school team.
